My Star Trek Universe:

I often refer to the informal mentoring system of command officers in Star Fleet.   In my universe, this is how command officers with field experience help the junior officers coming up t he ladder.   By sharing real experiences and being a sounding board for the junior officer's questions, the senior officers help prepare  them for their own commands. 




Nick Names:
To Jimmi McCoy the giving and receiving of nick names is a sign of affection. When Jimmi was just 13, her father had grumbled that there were too many Jims in the room when Kirk was with them. Kirk started calling her by her full name, Jean Marie. She started calling him James T. since he would not tell her what the T. stood for. She found out later but never changed the nick name.

Personal Space:

Welcome to the first book of the continuing story of Personal Space. Let me introduce you to a few of the characters you will meet shortly. Jimmi McCoy is Dr. McCoy's college age daughter. The story goes that the good doctor did not know he was a dad until his daughter, Jean Marie a.k.a. Jimmi, was 9 years old. And then he only found out because his former flame was dying. So he became a single parent. When he had the chance to sign on Enterprise as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) McCoy put his daughter in boarding school.

It was on her breaks from boarding school when she was 16 that she met Ensign Chekov - who became like a big brother to her. Almost 2 years later, it was through Ensign Chekov that she met Lt. Sulu.  While she fell for him instantly, he fought the attraction because of their age difference. Eventually, he lost that battle. They had a brief, extremely inappropriate, affair which he ended when she returned to Earth to go to college.

On Earth, Jimmi is part owner of a bar near StarFleet Academy called the Jade Palace.  Her business partner is L.J. Vasco who has been a good friend since boarding school.

On Enterprise, in addition to the normal crew, we will meet Dr. Bobby Lopez, Dr. Stella Booysie, Ensign Rosita Gonzoles among others
